Unit 13: Final Major Project 

As this is the final week it was purely focused on the evaluation stage. For this I worked from home, as mentioned last week, for most of the week other than Wednesday where I went in for my presentation.

Monday I was able to make a good start on the evaluation, completing the first two sections of it, writing about 3000 words within a day. I was glad I could make this progress as it gives me a good idea of how much I am likely to write each day, meaning I could gauge that by Thursday evening I would be done with the evaluation. With this in mind, Tuesday was pretty much the same, I continued to make progress with the evaluation, keeping up the pace that I had done yesterday.

On Wednesday (22/5/24) I had my presentation to a specified audience, LO7 part 3. This wasn’t something I was necessarily nervous about as a couple of my peers had done theirs yesterday and told me that it was all fine, and mainly nothing to stress about. Before the presentation I made sure that I double checked everything was working and all content was there too.

From my end, I feel as though the presentation went really well. I was able to tell them exactly why I made the decisions I did and express how much creating this meant to me. I mean whenever I watch I cannot help but smile, which I think shows just how invested I am in this project. I was able to respond to the unexpected questions with ease and express my honest thoughts, while articulating them in a way that made sense and not just me rambling.

There were some points I had included within the presentation, however due to time constrictions I was unable to cover these. But as Danny was the one to move me on, I gathered that this meant I had given sufficient evidence already and didn’t need to give more information. Along with this it showed that everything I was including within the presentation was what they were looking for and more, so I am pleased with that.

This is the final learning outcome that I had to complete, and I am proud of what I have been able to achieve. It was almost sentimental, I can see how far I have come from the very beginning of this course to now, even the development made over the course of the past 16 weeks. I have put so much effort into this, my heart and soul and I feel its certainly paid off.

As I had predicted, on Thursday I was able to complete my evaluation. I am pleased with how this went and that I was able to get it done. I believe I have worked to the best of my ability, being able to produce a detailed document, which gives an insight into the whole process of this project. Once it was done I doubled checked over the work to ensure that I had completed everything necessary, then uploaded it onto my website. Honestly glad to say that it’s over.

I am writing this as of Friday and all that’s left to do is the necessary checks and get everything onto the site. This project has given me the chance to grow as both a media practitioner and a person, which I am grateful for. I cannot wait to see what my future holds and am grateful for everything that my lecturers and this course has taught me.
